Mental Health and Well-being
At St James, we are committed to fostering a positive and supportive environment where mental health and well-being are valued as essential components of personal and academic success.
Through a whole-school approach, we actively promote emotional resilience, self-awareness, and positive mental health for all pupils and staff. Well-being is embedded in our curriculum, daily interactions, and school culture, ensuring that every individual feels safe, supported, and heard.
We provide high-quality teaching and learning around mental health and well-being, equipping students with the skills to manage emotions, build positive relationships, and navigate challenges. Our staff receive ongoing professional development to enhance their understanding of mental health and to confidently support pupils.
We recognise that life can sometimes be challenging, and extra support may be needed. Our staff, in collaboration with external services, offer tailored guidance and interventions to ensure that no one has to face difficulties alone. We encourage open conversations and strive to break down the stigma surrounding mental health.
At St James, well-being is at the heart of everything we do, and together, we create a nurturing community where everyone can thrive.
