PSHE

At St James CE Primary Academy, we believe that PSHE is paramount as part of our children’s education. We feel that all children benefit from learning about their feelings, their health, their finances and their mental wellbeing.

We believe that our children benefit from a developed understanding of spiritual, moral, social and cultural development and ensure that they have opportunities to develop as full, confident and calm individuals with a feeling of belonging and self-worth and with ambition and motivation for their future as adults.

We are able to ensure that throughout their time at St James, children develop and grow through PSHE lessons by using ‘Jigsaw’. Jigsaw is a whole school scheme which ensures that pupils not only learn about their feelings, their health and their mental wellbeing but that they also build on this knowledge from Reception all the way through to Year 6.
